rob the fly hunter

Sorry I haven't written in a while. Everything went great with anthony's procedure. His tounge clipping was however very scary. They gave him a massive amount of codeine syrup. Made him really drowsy. Then they put numbing solution on the bottom of his tounge. Then they gave him a shot because the codeine wasn't putting him out enough. Then they covered his eyes so he would not see the tools used to clip it. Then they clipped it. He was drooling blood for like a whole hour. Then he was fine no fusisng that day after or the next day either! Then the next day came.. . . . . .
It seems that it is worse in pain when it is almost done healing.
He cried for like 5 hours today holding his chin, and trying to play with his toungue.
We just gave up on trying to feed him dinner, and sat down a massive bowl of jello jigglers in front of him.
He happily ate them all up!
Whew!
One more day in the healing process down!
We can't wait until it heals, because then we ccan really start trying to teach him how to talk.
T.E.I.S. came out and did an ealuation on him.
Out of 5 areas, Adaptive, cognitive, motor, communication, and something else skills. He passed with flying colors. The only part he failed was the part of saying the actual words. He just don't wanna talk!

Oh well I guess he will one day.
He has an E.N.T. apt. on the 15th. (ear nose and throat specialist)
They are going to evaluate his hearing to try to figure out if he has bad hearing and that is why he is not wanting to talk.

ANd hopefully after they figure that out everything will be fine and dandy!

Hopefully..........

PEACE!

Bye Mocha *sniff

OK we done it......
We are really really sad to announce we had to get rid of Mocha.
She went back to her origonal owners.
Her origanal owners are a really sweet older couple.
We are really really sad about this, but we had to do it because she kept jumping up on Anthony. I don't mean just jumping up on him like trying to tackle him. She would lung at him from across the room and cover him over the whole top of him, making him cry in scaredness.
I never said anything about this before, because I thought we could train her not to do it.
Well every time she did I would tell her NO Mocha! But she kept on doing it.
So we started with locking her up with the baby gate in the laundry room, but after a while we realized she was locked in there for way to long, and we realized that that was incredibly inhumane.
So we decided (after much debate) to give her back. We had'nt lost any money on her. She came with everything she needed.
I am just worried what will happen in the morning when Anthony wakes up and he goes looking for her.
I am hoping that we kept her not too long for him to show any signs of really missing her.
I told Rob in the future from now on, nothing bigger than a hampster comes in this house!
He agrees (for now).
I am so sorry I look like such a flakey person for getting a dog and then getting rid of her, but we had to do what was in the best interest of our son.
I am sure you guys understand.
*sniff
Bye Mocha..................

Peace.

Here's to old friends..........

Rob finally got back in touch today with his best friend after three years. I am so glad he has his best friend back now. He really needs him. Especially one that can put up with with me Anthony AND the dog! He is a really good guy, and funny too!

The puppy is still NOT potty trained. We are working on it. One day.............

Anthony is going to have a rough couple of weeks coming up ahead of him. He gets his tounge clipped on Monday. He is tongue-tied in case you didn't know. He also has to be evaluated by TEIS. It's a non-profit thing for tennessee residents. They come and check to see if he really needs a speach therapist, and then they put in a referal for a speach therapist, and then he goes to the speach therapist and we hope everything is good from then on.

For now we take it one day at a time.

Peace.

The END of the Mocha Chronicles............

Ok this is the end of the Mocha chronicles. I am done with trying to figure out what to do with her!

So this is how it's gonna go..........

She is gonna go potty in the morning..............

Potty in the afternoon.......

Potty at night.............

She's gonna get fed in the morning and at night............

She is going to sleep in the crate in our room beside me.......

And anything else? Well........ We'll just have to take it as it comes...........

Anthony is sooooooooo FUNNY!

He dances now...........at almost every commercial with music that comes on he dances...He shakes his butt back and forth and sometimes he waves his arms! It is soooo cute!

Rob and I were up ALL NIGHT last night!
We are so tired we can't stand it.
Dogs are....well puppies are....exactly like toddlers.....they whine....they play.....they sleep a lot.....they throw fits (by peeing on your white carpet)...... they make messes......they lick your face.....they cuddle with you....they love to be held.....they need training......teaching.....they are exactly like toddlers......

And we love them both!

Potty training goes on and on and on and on...........

God this is hard!

I called petsmart today and talked to the dog trainer there.

He gave me a step-by-step play of a day in training a dog. He told me exactly what needed to be done. It is so hard!!!! Got to feed her for 15 mins locked in the laundry room, then go in there and take her food up off the floor. We then have to wait another 20-30 minutes and then we put on her leash make her scratch the door then take her right outside to the same spot every time.

We then do this at two hour intervals every two hours.
Rob gets up at 5:30 takes her out put her back in the crate blah blah blah blah......

We have to squirt her with a water bottle every time she nips....So far it's working great....we squirt her and say no bite, and she listens!!!!

Rob and I have also taught her to sit.....

Anthony is getting an attitude now.....

Every day you can see him growing into a wonderful little man.....

It is so cute! But I know i know he's not supposed to be doing this. You tell him no to something and he looks at you out the side of his eyes and cocks his head to the side like he's giving you the evil eye. Or sometimes now he rolls his eyes at you!!! He did NOT get that from me! Must be daddy! lol........................

OH YEAH and he takes his pants off! He looks at you from across the room to make sure you are not gonna tell him no, and then he takes them and slowly slides them down. If you tell him NO! he jerks them right back up! LOL. (also something he gets from daddy! ;)

More later....

We gotta catch up on sleep Mocha has been keeping us up all night for the past 5 days.

Peace

Ewwwwww Mochi sprung a leak!

Moki got stung by two bees today! One on her ear and one on her noser. Poor girls been whimpering all day. We gave her 5 mg of benedryl and then she was sleeping again for the majority of the day. Somehow someway the beestings gave her the squirts! (yes I know gross, but it's been something we had to stay up late to tackle)

I am trying to learn how to type without looking at the keyboard now. One would think as much as I type on here lately I could do it with no problem. (or get carpul tunel one of the two) I can't.

I really did'nt want this dog to begin with, but I have realized something. Rob and I do more "family strengthening activities" now. We are more focused on the dog and Anthony now that we well, we really don't have any time to do the stupid stuff. Like watching T.V. or just being lazy. We are really getting closer as a couple. I love it. I really do. I am so happy now. Thanks to a dog. Somebody's trying to tell me something I think. Don't really know what it is, but I must be doing something right. (well here's to hoping)

Peace

Potty training Mocha

Ok so we have a huge yard.......
We have a little dog.........
We have a little dog that WILL NOT poop in only one spot.......
She is being taken out every hour on the hour, and always and every time with positive results.
We give her doggie bisquits every time she goes.
Rob told me last night that he would take her out in the morning so she would not want to go in the house. Well he got in a hurry to leave and just locked her up in the laundry room. It WAS BTW 6AM!!! I wake up to this horrible sounding whimpering. Rob had put her in the laundry room and she was looking for him. Waiting for him to walk back in the door. I guess she got mad at him for leaving her, so she peed on the doggie bed I made for her..........
Oh Geez here we go!!!!!!
I was so worried she was gonna pee on our white carpet that I took her out every hour on the hour! She did great! Not another episode at all......
About 5 o'clock we took her over to our friends house....
Our friend has three dogs. So when moki walked in she got territorial, and took a big (and massively stinky I might add) dump on their hardwood floor. Thankfully they didn't care.
Whew!
Moki got her first shot ever today.
The people we got her from were not giving her her shots, so we went and got a de-wormer shot. I gave it to her. I was so scared I was going to mess it up, but the guy that sold it to me at the store assured me it would not be hard. Well she screamed her head off. She was ok after about three minutes though, and then, like she's been doing every hour since we got her, she fell asleep.

Peace.
